Preventive Maintenance (PM) for Busduct Systems
We provide structured PM for sandwich and air-insulated busducts in the range of 250A to 4000A. Our work is executed with OEM torque discipline, alignment checks, and tap-off box servicing—designed to minimize downtime and prevent fire hazards.
Joint Cleaning & Contact Integrity
Clean interfaces, verify condition, and restore contact reliability.
Torque Wrench Tightening (OEM Specs)
Correct torque application with controlled re-tightening procedure.
Alignment Checks & Support Validation
Mechanical integrity and proper busduct alignment for safe operation.
Tap-off Box Servicing
Inspection, cleaning, and corrective fitment to ensure safe tap connections.
OEM Experience & Maintenance Readiness
Over decades of maintenance work, we have handled busduct systems across major brands used in commercial and industrial facilities. Our PM approach is aligned to OEM expectations and based on field-tested inspection parameters for long-term electrical reliability.
Busduct brands serviced
EAE, Megaduct, Henikwon, Schneider, C&S, Godrej
PM Scope of Work (Detailed)
1) Pre-maintenance inspection
- ✓Visual and mechanical condition check at accessible joints and tap-off interfaces.
- ✓Review of site constraints for safe isolation/shutdown planning (where required).
- ✓Baseline documentation for measured and photographic “before” record.
2) Joint cleaning & controlled re-tightening
- ✓Joint cleaning to restore contact integrity and remove contamination.
- ✓Torque wrench tightening to OEM-specified torque values.
- ✓Verification of tightness after systematic execution (no “random tightening”).
- ✓Confirmation of correct fastener positioning and contact surface condition.
3) Alignment checks & support integrity
- ✓Mechanical alignment checks for straightness and interface stability.
- ✓Support system inspection and identification of loose/misaligned structures.
- ✓Corrective actions to restore safe mechanical configuration.
4) Tap-off box servicing
- ✓Inspection and cleaning of tap-off box interfaces and contact surfaces.
- ✓Checking fitment, sealing integrity, and safe closure arrangement.
- ✓Corrective fitment where required for safe tap connection operation.
Maintenance Outcomes & Deliverables
Measured documentation
- Service photos at each critical joint/tap-off interface
- Torque discipline verification notes
- Mechanical alignment observations
- Identified abnormalities and corrective recommendations
Risk reduction focus
- Reduced risk of hotspot generation at joints
- Improved contact reliability and operational stability
- Lower probability of shutdown-critical failures
FAQ (Preventive Maintenance)
Do you only do visual inspection?
No. Our PM includes joint cleaning, controlled OEM torque tightening, alignment checks, and tap-off box servicing. Where required, diagnostics and test verification are included as part of the maintenance strategy.
What makes torque wrench tightening important?
Busduct performance depends on correct contact pressure. Torque wrench discipline helps avoid both under-tightening (leading to hotspots) and over-tightening (risking fastener or contact stress).
How does PM reduce fire hazard risk?
Thermal anomalies often originate from compromised joints, contamination, poor contact integrity, or misalignment. PM addresses these causes early, reducing the probability of abnormal temperature rise and related fire-risk conditions.
